MALEFICENT (2014) - Movie Review

THIS CURSE WILL LAST TILL THE END OF TIME! NO POWER ON EARTH CAN CHANGE IT!
If Alice in Wonderland was a sequel, Oz the Great and Powerful was a prequel, told from the 'Mistress of Evil' herself in Maleficent.
Lots of talented cast was brought here and I have to honor Angelina Jolie for her elegance and grace with a wicked sense of humor that really outshines the film. Princess Aurora herself played by Elle Fanning was beautiful and I think they really both pay homage to the classic.
The Pixies are well I have to say I hate them in here they made them idiots, in the original Sleeping Beauty they were humorous and fun to watch and really smart, here they have much humor which is much bad.
One character really stood out for me and it was Maleficent's right hand servant Diaval. He has enough humor and has a heart.

The visuals are never the less stunning to see. Has enough 3D scenes. I guarantee this is one of the best live-action films I have seen since Alice in Wonderland.
First time director Robert Stromberg makes his film Oz-inspired and I'm sure this movie will be nominated visually for an Oscar. Linda Woolverton (writer) still left questions unanswered but she still tried to tell truth behind the 'Mistress of All Evil' herself.
Lastly, every fan of Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty knows the song Once Upon A Dream which was played 3 times in the classic film (Spoilers) Now here you have the very alluring voice of Lana Del Rey that was groundbreakingly haunting that fit perfectly to the film's conclusion.
Surely this is one not to be missed! Clearly Don't Believe the Fairytale!
*The Planet gives it a 7/10

*'Maleficent' is now showing in 3D, 2D, 4Dx, and IMAX 3D distributed by Walt Disney Studios Philippines

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS (2014)

"Pain demands to be felt."

Woah. I never had a near perfect experience. For the first time in my movie watching history have I never felt so emotionally attached. I'm very much familiar with the book and I read it like 3 times, and read it again before the watching movie but there's something different about this book and movie, it takes you to different places.

I have to give credits to Josh Boone for directing this amazing movie. From the screenwriters who brought us '500 Days of Summer' and writing this film Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber. They really pushed every important aspect of the book, even the exact lines...Although (Spoilers) I wished they had watched V for Vendetta.

Never have I expected to see a chemistry between Shailene Woodley (Hazel Grace) and Ansel Elgort (Agustus Waters) for they both played brother and sister in Divergent, but they hit all the right notes. They just brought into life those characters perfectly.

Fans of the book (Nerdfighters) and movie goers will love the film. It brought me and my friend to tears no not just tears river of tears. John Green I hate you! because you had made this extraordinary book and being part of this extraordinary film. I laughed and cried.

"I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity."

The Fault In Our Stars is always and should be an instant classic for book lovers and audiences, generation after generation. It will really make you alive!

Get your box of tissues ready because this is a roller coaster that only goes up my friend!

'The Fault In Our Stars' is now showing in cinemas distributed by 20th Century Fox (Philippines)
